How CVs actually get read
Thank you for your time. This research is part of the work behind Alatar, a platform we are building for both sides of hiring: helping candidates write clearer, fact-faithful CVs, and helping the people who screen them get explainable screening. To do it well we need the practice of those who read CVs every day: what gets a candidate to the interview and what gets them rejected. There are no right or wrong answers: we care about how you actually work.
One thing we want to say upfront: Alatar does not help anyone inflate a CV. Rewrites that are not supported by the facts are blocked by design. Your experience goes toward making the CVs you receive more honest and readable, not more cunning.
Every question carries a label that tells you what we are asking about: ATS (in yellow) when it is about the software that filters applications, HR (in fuchsia) when it is about you and your own human judgment. That way the two never blur together.
The questionnaire is anonymous and takes about 5 minutes. Required questions are marked with an asterisk; the others are optional but very valuable if you have a spare minute. At the end you can leave a contact only if you want to receive the aggregated results.
Thank you very much. Your contribution has been recorded.
If you left your email, the aggregated results will reach you as soon as the research is complete. And if you know a colleague who works in recruiting and might want to weigh in, feel free to forward the link: every extra answer makes the results more solid.
All the best with your work.
